Last night we had a game night at the Johsens. As usual spending time with them was great. The Abbott brothers joined us and we ended up playing games until around 10:30 or 11. Today after Church we played music in the park (which seems like it is becoming a tradition) and decided that we needed to spend some more time with the Johsens. Dinner at their house! Yay! We played more poker and Leahi and I were a team. We were raking in the money as this picture shows. Such fun!

Careful What You Ask For
You might not want to be mentioned on your sisters blog as much as you think.

Books
I've been reading a lot these last few weeks before school starts. I'll give you an idea what I mean by reading a lot. I've read four books in the last three weeks. So, for some it might be reading like crazy, and for others you might think I've been slacking.
The first two books I read were by Lenora Mattingly Weber my great-grandmother. I enjoyed them very much. They each took my about one or two days to complete.
The next book I read was called "The Robe" by Lloyd Douglas which was a great read. I enjoyed it a lot! It took me about two weeks to finish.
I just finished reading "A Grief Observed" by C.S. Lewis I loved how raw and real it was. Not many people would write the kinds of things he was willing to write. Nor would they allow it to be shared with the world. Although, to avoid identification it was published with the name N.W. Clerk on it. This one took me about three days to complete.
It's to really fair to say how many days it took to complete because I was not able to read for a set amount of hours a day. So I'll say books by Weber usually take about 4-6 hours to complete, the book by Douglas took around 10-12 hours and the book by Lewis took around 3 hours. This is my best guess but some of you know how good I am at guessing time and size!

We are the Ones
Uriah showed me a very disturbing music video about Obama it's called "We Are The Ones" where people actually seem to be worshiping him. Obama will not remake or save the world - That is what Christ has already done!

Beauty with a Cause
The other day I was looking at simple (the review blog that two of my sisters review for) and I noticed a review for "Beauty with a Cause." The make-up they carry has no heavy metals in it, and they are chemical free. As some of you know I stopped wearing make-up a few months back because I realized that I was putting something harmful on my skin each time I used it. I will admit that I didn't often put make-up on anyway. But I had stopped completely. So I was excited to find a make-up that I would feel good about using. I made my order and this morning while on the phone with Lis it came!
I took a before and after shot and would recommend the product.

Fried
Yesterday I went to the beach with some friends. We had a lot of fun sitting around and dipping our feet in the ocean. Surprise sightings of friends and my cousin made the day extra special. All the while I thought I was being careful about how much vitamin D I was taking in, but I wasn't being careful enough! The children first noticed in the car ride home. "Miss Bertsch, your arm looks so red!" Yes, I've got a terrible sunburn. As I was walking inside I picked an aloevara leaf and started putting it on. So the good news is that I've been using a lot of aloe, and I was given a great idea last night to ice it. So I iced it before I went to sleep and it wasn't feeling too hot. I think it's doing and looking a bit better today. But I might go and ice it-I'm feeling awfully warm again!
